Michal Kozanek, MD, PhD

Dr. Kozanek is a board eligible orthopaedic surgeon with additional fellowship training in reconstruction of the foot and ankle.

Dr. Kozanek grew up in Bratislava, Slovakia where he completed his MD and PhD.  He then moved to Boston for a post doctoral research fellowship in biomechanics at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School.  His residency in orthopaedic surgery was performed at Harvard Combined Orthopaedic Residency Program based at Massachusetts General Hospital, and then he completed a fellowship in orthopaedic surgery of the foot and ankle at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, TX.

Dr. Kozanek specializes in foot and ankle problems ranging from toe deformities to those requiring complex reconstructive surgery.  He is an active member of the orthopaedic community in both the American Association of Orthopaedic Surgeons and American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society.  He has been a prolific author of clinical and scientific research that has been published in leading peer-reviewed journals.  He continues to pursue his interest in research with a focus in biomechanics and functional outcomes after surgical and non-surgical treatment of foot and ankle disorders.
